Texas named most transparent state in Sunshine Week study

During last week's national Sunshine Week, dedicated to providing open access to government information, Texas was found to be the only state providing online records in every category studied.

That's nice to hear -- although it is a superficial rating, and doesn't take into account the format of the records, ease of access, cost and other important factors I've advocated before. I'll have to admit though, that while I still don't think of Texas' state and local governments as a bastion of transparency, with advances like this and my recent good experience with the Comptroller's office and Twitter, things are improving.

The full release is on the Sunshine Week website.

How do you file a state human rights complaint in Texas? Doesn't seem to be much of such an organization yet!
