Texas Frightmare Weekend co-hosts horror flicks at AFI Dallas
The folks at Texas Frightmare Weekend (TFW) want you to know about the horror movies on tap at this year's AFI Dallas International Film Festival. There are six of them (if you count the shorts block as one film), and TFW will serve as co-host of their screenings.
Here's the lineup of frightful flicks:
Grace makes two appearances, the first at Midnight on Friday (March 27) at the Magnolia and the second at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday (March 28) at NorthPark.
Not Quite Hollywood plays at 10 p.m. on Thursday (April 2) at the Magnolia.
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Undead, and you can gaze upon their undeadness in all its glory at 10:15 p.m. on Friday (March 27) at NorthPark, and again on Sunday (March 29) at the Magnolia.
Yoroi: The Samurai Zombie finds legendary Versus star Tak Sakaguchi directing a script from Versus writer/director Ryuhei Kitamura, so it's got to be brimming with insane mayhem. It plays twice: at 11:45 p.m. on Saturday (March 28) and at 10 p.m. on Sunday (March 29), both at the Magnolia.
Zombie Girl: The Movie documents the incredible two-year struggle of nascent 12-year-old Austin filmmaker Emily Hagins to make a feature-length genre horror movie, regardless of whether she totally alienates her mom (and cast and crew) in the process. Plays at 10:15 on Friday (March 27) and at 7 p.m. on Saturday (March 28), both shows at the Magnolia.
The Midnight Shorts block includes the films Treevenge, I Live in the Woods!, Danse Macabre, Hunger, Last Meal, The Horribly Slow Murderer with the Extremely Inefficient Weapon (contender for the PegNews Best Film Title Award for 2009) and The Snake Mountain Colada. The shows play Saturday (March 28) at 10 p.m. and Sunday (March 29) at 10:15 p.m., again at the Magnolia.
