100 trees to be planted at Skyline High School in Dallas
As part of the kick-off for the “Roadmap to Tree Planting” program, 100 trees will be planted at Dallas Independent School District’s Skyline High School, 7777 Forney Road, from 8 a.m. to noon, on Saturday, March 28.
Skyline was chosen as the site for the “Roadmap to Tree Planting” by the Texas Trees Foundation. The Roadmap, which is a new national model developed by the Texas Trees Foundation and NCDC Imaging, identifies and maps tree planting sites using GIS technologies. NCDC Imaging is recognized as an industry leader in developing innovative GIS and remote sensing solutions for urban sustainability, energy, natural resources, environmental management and emergency response applications.
In conjunction with the celebration for the Arbor Day for the City of Dallas, a ceremony will take place at 8 a.m. with several community leaders, including Executive Director for Dallas ISD’s East Secondary Learning Community, Emilio Castro; and City of Dallas officials.
