0

Recovering children, family and guests at Cook Children’s Medical Center will enjoy a live performance of Peter and the Wolf with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. The concert will take place at 3 p.m. on March 26 in the medical center’s atrium. Patients will have an opportunity to meet the musicians before and after the performance. In-house broadcasting will allow patients to watch the concert on televisions in their rooms as well. Suzi McLaughlin will narrate this popular and uplifting story that is a favorite of adults and children alike. This performance made possible by generous underwriting from Leslie and John David Moritz.

“Music has such healing power,” said Ann Koonsman, FWSO president. “We are very grateful to be able to share this beautiful gift with those who need it most.”

The FWSO shares the joy and beauty of symphonic music with nearly 65,000 children through more than 100 engaging programs each year. Through innovative educational events, in-school concerts, free neighborhood performances and an extensive touring program, the Orchestra strives to ensure that children of all ages from every walk of life, every ethnic origin, and all backgrounds have the opportunity to experience live symphonic music.
