Among the more than 3,000 events on Pegasus News this week, here are some of the standouts for folks interested in having better homes and gardens:
The Colleyville Eco House is "a demonstration project for the US Department of Energy's Building America program to encourage homeowners and builders to live and build in a more fiscally and environmentally sensible manner." They have some interesting videos on their site that give an idea of the types of eco-improvements that you can learn about during their tours.

This year's Dallas Blooms does not disappoint, with multiple beds blanketing the grounds with hundreds of thousands of tulips.
Dallas Blooms is ongoing at the Dallas Arboretum through April 12. There are more than 500,000 flowers and a Storybook Playhouse exhibit for the kids.
You can plan a new aquatic retreat at this weekend's Dallas Pool & Spa Show.
When my wife suggested we start a "recession garden," she was on the cusp of a growing trend. It seems that the folks at Texas Discovery Gardens, like me, prefer the term "Victory Garden." They've got a weekend class to get you started.
If you're more about aesthetics than eats, Marshall Grain Co. in Grapevine has a free seminar on how to grow a garden that attracts butterflies.
And if you want to keep it organic, "The Dirt Doctor," Howard Garrett, will be giving a talk in Coppell.
