Keep Glenn Heights Beautiful Texas Trash-Off scheduled for April 4
It's just one hyper-local part of a state-wide community cleanup event.
Glenn Heights Texas Trash-Off
- Sat
- Apr
- 4th
- 8AM
- Glenn Heights Community Park
- 400 East Bear Creek Road, Glenn Heights
- Free
- Age limit: N/A
On Saturday, April 4, citizens of Glenn Heights are invited to slip on a pair of work gloves (I guess you can see where this is going) and join their friends and neighbors at Glenn Heights Community Park (400 E. Bear Creek) for a morning of organized litter pickup along neighborhood streets and waterways.
It's all a part of the Don't Mess With Texas / Keep Texas Beautiful campaign, and the idea is pretty straightforward: pick up the trash that other folks have carelessly discarded while driving, walking, boating and (I suppose) flying across the landscape.
If you've actually littered yourself, here's a chance to get out and pick up that hamburger wrapper and redeem yourself. (It's never too late to get on the right side of righteous.)
The meetup is set for 8 a.m., with late registration continuing until 9 a.m.; cleanup sweeps will last from 8:30 - noon, at which time there will be a free lunch of pizza and cold drinks for all volunteers. Free t-shirts will also be available after you've done your dirty duty.
There's a final "trash inventory" set for 1 p.m. - 2 p.m., and then the rest of the day is your oyster - but be sure to discard the shell sections appropriately.
