A plethora of CD releases on the horizon and several quality local shows give you plenty of reasons to get out of the house this weekend.

The Whiskey Folk Ramblers' sound evokes a speak-easy, gypsy roots feel that we've long been enamored with. On Wednesday night they stop by the Boiler Room in Denton with The Bones Royal of New York and Red Collar from Durham, North Carolina, before the trio of bands sets off on national tour.
Friday night is probably the biggest night of local music, featuring two CD release shows (with a total of three CDs released) and a rap/hip-hop show DFW hasn't seen in a while. At Club Dada, Dallas indie pop band, Companion, formerly Hey Hollywood, releases their latest effort along with Austin's Quiet Company, who are also celebrating the release of Everyone You Love Will Be Happy Soon.
If you have the album release fever but can't make it out of Tarrant County this weekend, no worries, because Green River Ordinance plays The Aardvark in Fort Worth in support of Out of My Hands, which released online in late February. On Saturday they move the party to the House of Blues Pontiac Garage with Josh Weathers.
Of course, if you're looking for something with more of an edge (and reverberating beats) one absolutely should not miss Money Waters, Bavu Blakes, AwkQuarius and others at the Liquid Lounge. Billed as a Final Friday's March Madness Edition, Waters, Blakes, and Pikahsso and Tahiti of AwkQuarius are all fresh off last weekend's SXSW in Austin.

Saturday offers some a little happy and little sad, as Salim Nourallah releases his fourth solo album, Constellation at Sons of Hermann Hall, while across town at the Granada, Black Tie Dynasty plays their final show. Joining BTD is The Burning Hotels, who nabbed a nice mention in DFW.com's SXSW coverage and Airline, a former Pegasus News Showcase band, among other, far more reputable points of recognition.
If by Sunday you're still hankering for something to do, relax at the Fairmount in Fort Worth while enjoying all kinds stringing, strumming, and picking from Sweetleaf Trio and the Blackland River Devils.
