Updated 12:56 p.m., April 3, 2009

On Thursday, April 9, the West Dallas Chamber of Commerce will present an election forum called "West Dallas Votes." The brown-bag lunch event will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Lakewest YMCA, 3737 Goldman St Jack’s Backyard.

Open to West Dallas Chamber members, West Dallas business leaders and other community stakeholders, the forum will shed light on both propositions that will be on the May 9 ballot as well as District 3 and 6 Dallas City Council races.

"Thanks in large part to the Trinity River project, development and business interest in West Dallas is at an all-time high," said Victor Toledo, West Dallas Chamber board chairman. "The outcome of these referenda and city council races will chart our community’s course for many years to come."

"We invite all of West Dallas' business interests to attend on April 9," Toledo added.

Since its incorporation in 1994 as the West Dallas Business Association, the West Dallas Chamber of Commerce has advocated an improved economic and business climate for West Dallas. West Dallas is defined by the Trinity River on the east and north, the Trinity River's West Fork on the west and I-30 on the south.
