Fort Worth, Texas - The FWISD Business and Finance Department is working overtime to correct some payroll issues.

During the running of the March payroll, an inadvertent human error resulted in the loss of some information. In the recovery process some incorrect data from February was included in the current payroll. The incorrect data represents an error rate of less than two percent.

“We want all our employees to know that we will be working today until we can resolve any pay issues they may have,” said Ronald Wilson, the District’s Chief Financial Officer.

The FWISD is currently in the third month of implementing a new payroll system.

“The system is fine and is functioning just as we expected,” said Mr. Wilson. “Incorrect entries were made and we are working to make the corrections as quickly as we can.”

The District is taking special efforts so that all employees have the information and the help they need to understand their new pay information.

“We certainly understand that any paycheck issue is one too many when it’s your paycheck,” said Mr. Wilson. “But knowing that questions will arise, we are ramping up our customer service during the next several days so we can deal with each question individually.”

Beginning this Friday, March 27, and running through next week, the Payroll Department will operate a special telephone hotline from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to accommodate the work schedules of most District employees. Payroll specialists will be available to begin the resolution process. The hotline number is 817-871-2600. Questions can also be emailed to Payroll by sending to payrollresponse@fwisd.org.
