Dallas ISD approves of plan to turn Samuell and Spruce high schools into magnet schools
DALLAS The Dallas School Board voted 8-0 on Saturday to turn Samuell and Spruce high schools into magnet schools.
The trustees voted to change the two high schools' status because they're performing so low that the state may close them altogether. As magnet schools, their names would change, the class size would be smaller, and students would choose majors in career-based studies.
