I want to take a moment to recognize the AFI Dallas Film Festival and their support to the North Texas Food Bank. With the help from their Community Partners, AFI Dallas has given the North Texas Food Bank 2,000 family-friendly passes for distribution. Together they also organized an online virtual food drive called Cans Film Festival, as well as your good old fashioned canned food drive "2 Bucks for 2 Cans." The NTFB had announced in December a $156K budget deficit, due to the (I almost put the word 'recent' here) economic downturn.
Now is as good a time as ever to participate and support the Food Bank by bringing two cans with you to AMC NorthPark, Magnolia Theater or AFI Dallas Box Office and Headquarters. In return, you will receive $2 off the regular festival screening admission price. The food drive ends when the festival ends (April 2), and hey, if you forget the cans, donations to NTFB are also accepted at the box office.
