Market Street in Plano celebrates grand opening on Wednesday with free milk giveaway
PLANO Market Street is offering Dallas-Fort Worth families the opportunity to “skim” a $3.50 item off their weekly grocery list for an entire year.
The first 100 guests to arrive at the grand opening of the grocer’s Plano location on Wednesday, April 1, will receive coupons for a one year supply of Red River Farms milk. Market Street’s giveaway will have the winning DFW families “milking” more than $18,200 in 2009, or just around “2 percent” of their annual grocery purchases.
The average family consumes at least a gallon of milk per week, if not more. This is an “utterly” fantastic opportunity for DFW residents to ensure their families won’t go without one of the most commonly recommended nutritional items for women and growing children, despite the challenges of the current economy.
For the best chance to add $200 back to their annual budgets, community members should “moo-ve” quickly to 1929 Preston Road in Plano. Doors open at 7:00 a.m., and the first 100 guests to walk through the doors will receive the year supply of milk.

Christin Richard, says:
Will $3.50 cover the cost of a gallon of milk each week for a year? Maybe that off-brand that's about to turn "blinky" at the corner store...

I wonder how many of the 100 will go into MS to pick up their milk and then drive across the street to the lower priced Kroger.

Most of their packaged type stuff seems to be reasonably priced. Only their produce seems to be overpriced to me.

Teresa: I work as a personal chef and am in grocery stores every day, sometimes 4 or 5 different stores in the same day. To get the best deals you do have to know where and when to shop for each item so yes, at times and for certain items, Market Street is inexpensive. But if you have time and money for only one store that store should be Kroger.
