Camelot Sports and Entertainment LLC announced today the purchase of the Mesquite Championship Rodeo from an affiliate of Hicks Sports Group.  Under the new ownership group, the Mesquite Rodeo will be re-established as a truly unique, year-round sports and entertainment venue.

Resistol Arena

Camelot Sports and Entertainment’s primary objective is to revitalize the tradition and heritage of the Rodeo by improving both the quality and value of a night at the Rodeo.  Camelot Sports will also be expanding the number of non-Rodeo events, transforming Resistol Arena to a year-round events center.

In addition to bringing in other programs and shows, Camelot will continue to make the Rodeo an affordable family attraction and has lowered all reserved seat ticket prices in the arena to $6 for children and $11 for adults.

Camelot Sports will be making significant capital improvements to enhance the overall experience including the addition of two state-of-the-art color jumbo video boards, which will allow fans to get a close-up view of the live action and instant replays.  Camelot will also rescale and remodel suites in the arena to create several medium and large group areas that will include all-inclusive food and beverage packages.  Additionally, plans include a restaurant and private club environment, and the potential for a large color electronic marquee visible from Interstate 635.

During the beginning of the renovation process, the arena will close for the month of May, reopening in early June.  The process will continue after the reopening until Camelot’s Phase I renovations are complete.
