United Methodist officialdom solid on O.K. for the George W. Bush SMU policy center
... even though those in opposition are still trying to stop it.
Tilting at windmills?
That might be the best way to characterize the ongoing efforts of opponents to the establishment of the George W. Bush policy center on the campus of Southern Methodist University, now that the Judicial Council of the United Methodist Church has ruled that the lease agreement between the forthcoming library complex and the university violates no church laws.
But while United Methodist leadership wash their hands of the matter, opponents continue to take action against it. They have 90 days to convince the church's Judicial Council to reconsider.
