I'm an SMU alumni and in PR... I think that the bar owner is completely fair in requesting a roundtable of all business owners on Yale as well as the SMU committee in charge of this decision so that there are no bridges burned and everyone leaves satisfied. Yes, SMU students probably pay a lot of bills for these bars but without these bars, SMU students would be drinking on-campus (dry) so it's a give and take relationship. This isn't a student decision, this is a city decision.
