Musicians4Mayfest fights to ensure the festival returns in 2010

Not only is a canceled festival a bummer to those who planned on attending, but it can be financially crippling to the organizers.

While the back and forth continues as to who ultimately pulled the plug on the four-day event (depends on what the definition of "is" is, I believe), Mayfest, Inc. is left with $400,000 in unpaid bills. Such a hefty sum could jeopardize whether the festival even returns in 2010, flu propademic or not.

A group of musicians, many who were set to play this year's Mayfest, are banding together (get it?) to help raise money to ensure the festival's resurgence. While details are still in the works, Musicians4Mayfest's tentative plan is to host a fundraising concert to help pay the staggering bills.
