Concert preview: Backside Pick at Hailey’s in Denton (May 8)

Friday night at Hailey's Club will serve as the CD release party for Denton funksters Backside Pick. We interviewed Rocky from Backside and discussed the new album which is entitled Higher Place. It is a fantastic piece of work, full of zest and groove.

You will be able to catch the live performance of most of the album on Friday night. If you have seen this band before, you know what to expect. Plenty of energy, lots of dancing, and a great all around experience. Backside Pick will be gearing up for a summer tour in promotion of Higher Place, an album which should further the already exquisite reputation of the band.

Also playing will be another group of funk-masters, Fatty Lumpkin. The Denton group will serve as a perfect set up group for the guests of honor. Opening the evening will be a Prince cover band cleverly named Waters of Lake Minnetonka.
