Concert preview: The Tennessee 3 at the Boiler Room in Denton (May 8)
Nearly six years after his death, the legendary sound of Johnny Cash still goes on. Throughout most of his career, the man in black relied on one single band to produce that inimitable and hauntingly hypnotic sound. That band was The Tennessee 3, and this Friday, May 8, they will grace the stage at the Boiler Room for one of the most anticipated shows of the year. There is not much you can say about this band that has not already been written a thousand times over the four decades that they have been creating music. They are true legends in every sense of the word.
The band has been touring all year to mark the fortieth anniversary of the landmark album that shot Cash right to the top of the music industry. The Live At San Quentin album was a groundbreaking moment in musical history and it firmly placed Johnny Cash and The Tennessee 3 as an immovable force in musical history.
It is not very often such heavyweights come through Denton and what better place to host them than the Boiler Room. Its going to be packed so get there early! Plus you will get the chance to catch the opening act, The AM Ramblers, a Denton band on the rise that has the honor of opening for one of the most influential bands of all time.
