Thursday has a few events going on. CADD Art Lab is opening Architectonic (a show about architecture but containing no actual architecture) and Artspace 111 is opening a show of new works by J.C. Pacell. The DMA is hosting an artist talk and reception for the 2009 DeGolyer, Kimbrough, and Dozier awards, with the recipients discussing their winning works followed by a reception. It is also the first Thursday of the month, which means the galleries on both Dragon Street and in the Bishop Arts District will be staying open late for First Thursday celebrations.

Bronze mammary orchestra series by George Davis. Breaking the Sound Barrier exhibit at the Haley-Henman Gallery.
The Fort Worth Community Arts Center is having another of their multiple opening receptions, featuring works from five shows. Haley-Henman is having another of their Music Series, hosted in conjunction with the exhibit Breaking the Sound Barrier.
Saturday has a good choice in opening shenanigans. In case you miss it on Thursday, Architectonic is having another reception. mighty fine arts is opening a show with works by Jeff Wheeler, William Campbell is having a reception for Judy Youngblood and and/or is opening their last show ever (yes, it's sad, we will miss you and/or) for mixed media artist Chad Hopper. If you are looking for something a little more involved, check out the art book launch live painting by JD Miller at Samuel Lynne.
If you know of an art opening or event that we missed, please post a note in the comments below.

You are barking up the wrong tree if it is your intent to start sassing AT every time he posts...we've had that rodeo before and most of the riders got the ass end of the stick for their efforts. Like it or leave it...

OH Please Travis. What are you, 5?? No one posts as much crap as AT, what 8 million posts per day on 19 different sites? You think you're so tough? You sound like you wanna fight me in the school yard at 3:00. What is the matter with you? This is my SECOND post ever you freakin moron. Why is it okay for A/T to attack people and backstab them? Answer me that you little bully. He does it all the time. Psycho --Both of you.
I think the two of you are the ones with sticks up your asses, your heads certainly are firmly wedged there. And believe me, people talk about both of you behind your backs. You have no fan club and we're all pretty damn sick of the both of you.
Your boyfriend, A/T, has been extremely mean to people lately and deserves so much worse than a polite reality check like asking him to think about the crap he writes before he hits send. Believe it or not, it's actually intended to help him.
"sassing" Freakin Idiot.

Actually, it was her first time to post here today, as it was mine. She was born in Dallas, grew up here, knows the city and its various cultural aspects well -- and has as much right to be on this forum as you do; as much to contribute as do you. You'll likely have your wish, though, as I'm sure Peg News was a one-time venture for her. She merely was frustrated by what she had been reading and vented it.
But it would be nice if "A/T" would not use public message boards and similar venues communicate what should be expressed personally or left unsaid. There is nothing sassy in that; just a request. And I don't think he needs you to intercede for him.
I, for one, have no difficulty in understanding his communications.

"She merely was frustrated by what she had been reading and vented it."
By one or two posts and that is frustrating? Give me a break! If you don't bother to stay around and see what he has to offer in between the cryptic craziness, then that can't be helped.
Obviously you both have some issue with AT and YOU are the ones who should take it elsewhere. It is accepted that he posts in his own style here and if you don't like it, ignore it and move on. Simply put.

You'll find AT is a treasured resource. 71% is simulated opium flashback, 23% subatomic random correlation, 4% voice of Zeus and 2% lecithin.
Stop judging. Enjoy the wordplay and don't take it personally.

Jason, one day your very own fan club will have this kind of motto...After two posts even..

That is SOOO unfair. I was busy today. I deserve that kind of devotion. I work at it. I plan towards it. To see it ripped from my deserving hands is humiliation.
::A/T to attack people and backstab them
Did we get a new and different AT while I was out? Like Attila-Something?

I adore the moon! And it's all about love when it's full, and joy and howling and hooting. That's what they call fun out here! It's wicked :) But I do have a haunted phone that troubles me on occasion. What do I need for that? Sea salt? Holy water? Oh, and organic cleanser for this graffiti that keeps showing up on my friend's wall. Somebody got turned around and thought they were in the men's room, I think.
If you want to see an artful wall, take the Trinity Railway Express. What a colorful surprise, and on a concrete canvas!
