Texas Brahmas victory parade planned for Saturday
For the first time in team history, the Texas Brahmas have won the Central Hockey League’s Ray Miron President’s Cup. The City of North Richland Hills and the Brahmas will celebrate this outstanding achievement with a parade at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 9.
The parade will begin and end at the NYTEX Sports Centre, 8851 Ice House Dr., in North Richland Hills. From the NYTEX parking lot, the parade will travel south and east on Hawk Avenue, south on Grand Avenue, west on Parker and Bridge Street, north on Winter Park and east on Mid Cities back to Hawk Avenue. (See map below.) North Richland Hills residents and area Brahmas fans are encouraged to line the route to show support for the Brahmas players, coaches and staff.
The Brahmas enjoyed one of the best seasons in team history with an impressive 42-16-6 record and 90 points during the regular season. They went on to sweep Rio Grande Valley in the Southern Conference semifinals, then beat Odessa in a seven game series to win the Southern Conference Finals and powered past the Colorado Eagles to win the CHL Finals and bring home to Ray Miron President’s Cup.
