Arlington schedules town hall meetings to talk about the city’s budget
The City of Arlington has announced a series of three town hall meetings designed to allow citizens to express their opinions and hear the thoughts of city officials relating to the city's operating budget for the next fiscal year, which begins Oct. 1, 2009.
City Manager Jim Holgersson will be on hand to discuss city council priorities, which include neighborhoods, economic development, customer service, youth, seniors, families, capital investment, regionalism and fiscal stewardship.
Holgersson's talk will be followed by a question and answer session.
The meetings will be held at different locations around the city, beginning with one at City Hall (in council chambers), 101 W. Abram St., scheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday, May 11.
The second meeting is set for the South Police Service Center, 1030 SW Green Oaks Blvd. (in the Community Room), on Wednesday, May 13 at 6:30 p.m.
The final town hall budget meeting will be held on Monday, May 18 at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria at Ellis Elementary School, located at 2601 Shadow Ridge Dr.
