Arlington makes additional payout of $20 million to property owners of Cowboys Stadium land
ARLINGTON Owners of the land where the new Dallas Cowboys stadium was built got payouts of an additional $20 million after having retained lawyers who contested their original offers.
Arlington initially offered a total of $60 million for the land, but now the city will pay out at least $80 million -- which is double the amount first guesstimated by Arlington based on Tarrant Appraisal District figures.
Lawyers usually get a third in something like this, right? So let's see, a third of $20 million would be, what, just shy of $7 million. Fantastic.
