Afterimage Gallery in Dallas to host new Jenny Ellerbe exhibit
On Saturday, May 16, Afterimage Gallery in Dallas will begin its second show of the beautiful, quiet Louisiana photographs of Jenny Ellerbe. Living in the city of Monroe in the northern part of the state, she has rarely ventured more than 60 miles to make her photographs. They are not only an accurate documentation of the land and bayous, people and buildings, but they also convey the moods and feelings of the places and their inhabitants.
Ms. Ellerbe (born 1960) is a former pediatric intensive care nurse. She has become widely recognized for the exquisite quality of her black and white digital prints, and now the co-teaches an annual “Ink on Paper” digital printing workshop for the Ansel Adams Gallery in California. Her first book, Here is Home, was published last year by Scotia Waterous, Canada.
There will be a reception for the artist on the 16th from 7:30 to 9:30. The show ends on July 7.

alexander troup, says:
I like the light of these image's, while it was a black and white era, the 20th Century on up the early 1980's then it all becomes color and other things, black and white aint in may resepcts..meloncoly and like Diane Arbus and others who have made such grand statements of photogrphic elements....A/T,..Red and Blue is not like black and white...
