Cedar Hill City Council election heading toward a runoff
Cedar Hill often doesn’t even need a city council election. But when it does, it apparently gets its money’s worth. With Place 4 Councilman Greg Patton deciding to step down, a rare opportunity arose for aspiring council members. Local attorney Chris Parvin and federal employee Mike Holley made the best of that opportunity, Parvin winning a 47 percent majority but Holley drawing enough support to force a runoff.
In a race without an incumbent, there’s no telling what might happen. Parvin picked up 549 votes to Holley’s 469, with former Ferris councilman Wallace Swayze pulling in 149 votes. Swayze’s votes throw just enough into question for Cedar Hill to do the whole thing again in one month. Sorry if you thought you’d seen your fill of campaign signs and mailings.
