Dallas Cowboys special teams coach Joe DeCamillis was released from Parkland Hospital on Sunday night (May 10) and has returned home with his family.

DeCamillis (43), who was injured in the accident involving the Cowboys indoor practice facility on May 2, underwent surgery to stabilize a fractured cervical vertebrae on Monday, May 4.

“I want to take this opportunity to express my family’s overwhelming gratitude to every person that we have come in contact with at Parkland Hospital,” said DeCamillis. “The care, professionalism, and support that I received were way beyond outstanding. My family and I look at the outcome of my surgery as both a miracle and a blessing, and we will forever be grateful to every single Parkland employee and emergency medical representative who played a part.

“We would also like to thank everyone who expressed their support through prayers and well wishes to me, Rich (Behm), Greg (Gaither) and everyone who has been touched by this accident, and we ask that you continue to keep Rich and his family in your hearts as he begins his recovery process.”
