U.S. soldier accused of murder in Iraq has North Texas ties
Sgt. John M. Russell, the soldier accused of killing five servicemen at military counseling clinic in Iraq, is from the North Texas area. Records show that he is from Sherman and has lived in Fort Worth.
Russell has been charged with five counts of murder and one count of aggravated assault in the shootings.
