Anvil! The Story of Anvil
- When: Friday, May 29, 2009, 7:30 p.m.
- Where: Landmark Magnolia Theatre and Bar, 3699 McKinney Avenue, Suite 100, Dallas
- Cost: Not available
- Age limit: Not available
You'll have to wait a week or two for my review of one of the most interesting (and entertaining!) films of 2009. It's a rock documentary called Anvil! The Story of Anvil (dir. Sacha Gervasi), and when you see it, you're not going to believe it.
That's because, while you're watching it, it smells, looks and tastes like a mock-rock-doc along the lines of This Is Spinal Tap (dir. Rob Reiner) - to the extent that one of the band members is actually named ROBB REINER, for cripe's sake! (Sure, it's "Robb" with two b's, but still...)
From the Landmark Magnolia folks comes word that the actual, honest-to-God, real-and-not-fake band Anvil will be in Dallas on Friday, May 29 to answer questions following the 7:45 showing of the movie, and will perform live following the 9:45 show. (And screw the questions.)
Tickets for this not-to-be-missed entertainment are now available - go here (and select May 29 from the drop-down) to buy yours before they're all sold out.
(Man, I hope they play Toe Jam!)

I knew this was coming. I am on Anvil's facebook (ha!) but this date doesn't work for me! Ugghh. Please take pictures and write a long review. I can't wait to see the movie.
