Southbound lanes on SH 183 and I-35E in Dallas to close this weekend for Trinity Railway Express project
DALLAS From 5 p.m. Saturday, May 16 to 5 a.m. Monday, May 18, two outside lanes of southbound SH 183 will close from north of Mockingbird Lane to Commonwealth Drive in the vicinity of the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) bridge over I -35E. In addition, the inside lane of southbound I-35E will close from north of Mockingbird Lane to the merge with southbound SH 183.
Crews will close multiple lanes in the I-35E/SH 183 area so that the contractor, Gibson Associates, can perform needed repairs to the Trinity Railway Express bridge over the highway. With the closures, traffic will be able to use three inside lanes under the TRE bridge.
The TRE is jointly operated by Dallas Area Rapid Transit and the Fort Worth Transportation Authority.
Message boards and detour signs have been placed along the highways notifying motorists of the upcoming closure. Police will assist with traffic control during the closure.
