Which Wich founder Jeff Sinelli opens Burguesa Burger, Mexican burger place, in Dallas
DALLAS Burguesa Burger is a new burger concept targeted to Hispanic customers from Which Wich founder Jeff Sinelli.
Zesty Ron Ruggless quotes Sinelli as saying that it'll be "the first true Mexican burger chain serving authentic Mexican burgers".
"Through my travels south of the border, from Mexico all the way down to Argentina, I found that true hamburgers actually have ham on them," Sinelli said. He sourced Burguesa’s ham and buns from traditional Latino suppliers.
Wot is this ham? Is that why they call it hamburger?
The signature burger is called "La Monumental" and has two beef patties, cheese, slice of ham, crunchy orange tostada, refried beans, lettuce, tomato, onions, special sauce, and jalapeno.
Other notables:
- the straw of the milk shakes has a mini donut skewered on it
- sodas are made with cane sugar
- Mexican pesos accepted as well as U.S. dollars
- Sinelli got advice from Pizza Patron founder Antonio Swad
As noted by Nancy N., Burguesa opened on May 5 on Inwood Road in Dallas, next door to the original Sonny Bryan's.

No avocado on the burger? I hope "special sauce" means crema and not, I don't know, Russian dressing or some such.

::buy something in pesos
Pretty easy to do. There must be a nation somewhere for which they are legal tender.
