Collin County high school hands out shot glass as prom gift
Seems Community High School in Nevada, Texas (located in eastern Collin County) has an interesting prom tradition: handing out shot glasses embossed with the school's name to all students. The superintendent for the district said the gifts were meant as "memory glasses."
Ironically, some students' usage of the glasses will involve a loss of memory.

We all know that without the right glass, kids would never try hard liquor.
And that leads to drinking.
And that leads to dancing.
And that can only lead to contemporary performance art.

How is that any different from "wine" glasses?
I'd rather have a shot glass than a wine glass.

It's only evil if the use it before they turn 21. :-o And in these transient times of economic uncertainty, those little glasses are resilient to breakage. They should last another couple of years, when that mystical age of legal adulthood instantly transforms them into responsible drinkers and community leaders.

When I was in high school back in the late 60's, we were given small brandy snifters at the prom. Why is anyone making such a big deal out of something you can get at any souvenir store without proof of age. It's just a glass. (I still have mine with "There's a Place - 69" on it - now there's something to complain about!).
