Following the film screening, star Steven Jay Crabtree will perform his live comedy show, "Dysfunctional Divas."
Martini the Movie has also been selected to play at FilmOut San Diego and Newfest in New York City. The film premiered back in January at the Studio Movie Grill in Dallas.
Here's the lowdown:
Martini the Movie is an original comedy musical short about Martini Glass, the legendary actress of Hollywood's Golden Age. Set in the present, the story follows Martini as she prepares to audition for the comeback role of a lifetime. Along the way, with cocktail in hand, she dishes the Tinseltown dirt with a flourish! With her fame fading, she is left to question whether her star will ever shine brightly again! Filled with hot shirtless hunks, sassy one liners and a toe-tappin’ showtune, Martini the Movie is certain to leave you shaken and stirred! The screenplay is based on the stand up comedy and character of Martini Glass created by Steven Jay Crabtree. (The trailer for the film can be viewed here.)
Directed by Robert L. Camina, the 21 minute film stars Steven Jay Crabtree, M. Denise Lee and Carrie Bourn, with a special appearance by TV and radio personality, Jack E. Jett and a huge cast of singers and dancers. Original music by Brent Black, with lyrics by Brent Black and Robert L. Camina. Choreography by John de los Santos. Another notable appearance is a cameo by Stephen Savage-Estrada, Mr. Gay Dallas 2009 and Mr. Gay U.S.A. 2009 1st Runner-up, playing legendary silver screen heartthrob, Montgomery Clift. (Note that the movies contain some adult themes and language and is not appropriate for all ages.)
