A misdemeanor traffic stop by Officer Jeff Rocha provided the catalyst for a recent investigation that resulted in the arrest of three 17-year-old youths. Justin Currie of Lewisville and David Faram and John Duncan of Roanoke were arrested by Trophy Club police. A fourth suspect has been identified and is still at large. Trophy Club Police Commander Tony Simmons and Detective Keith Burris were investigating two burglaries of motor vehicles in Trophy Club when they were advised that Rocha had stopped and identified the suspects in the burglaries the previous night.

Based on this information and continued investigation, probable cause for a search warrant was developed and the warrant was executed at a Fort Worth residence. This search resulted in the recovery of radar detectors, a video gaming system, GPS units, digital cameras, IPods, digital projection equipment, and a Retired California Peace Officer Badge and Identification card.

Further investigation by Commander Simmons and Detective Burris resulted in the recovery of over 100 items of stolen property including blackberry cell phones, additional GPS units and radar detectors, wallets, driver’s licenses, credit cards, and a cello. The burglaries occurred along the Hwy 170 corridor between Trophy Club and I-35 in Fort Worth. Four additional suspects have been identified in a burglary ring that may be responsible for over 60 car burglaries in several different jurisdictions over a three week time period. Trophy Club Police will be turning the recovered stolen property over to the appropriate law enforcement agencies along with the evidence identifying each of the offenders.
