Live music events in Dallas-Fort Worth May 21-24
Big weekend for big names from another time.

Thursday
On hand at India.arie's performance at SMU's McFarlin Memorial Auditorium will be MTV shooting a documentary about the current neo-soul movement. Crews will be taping the performance and interviews with the artist, and could end up interviewing attendees for their opinions on the music. You! Up in Lights! BIG STAR!
Friday
A Flock of Seagulls come to the House of Blues on Friday. A flock of "waterfall" hairdos are sure to follow.
But if "I Ran" doesn't have a prominent place in your iTunes, then perhaps Honeybrowne and Rich O'Toole at the Granada Theater is more your speed. The alt-country headliners were ranked #1 for most radio spins on the Regional Texas Music Charts in March, while #2 on the Texas Music Chart.
Saturday
Saturday is a good one for some local music. Peg favorite Alligator Dave will be playing his first show of the year (as far as we can tell) at the Skillman Street Pub. Singing about a range of topics, mostly with a slightly raunchy edge, Alligator Dave is joined by an eclectic lineup of other locals, including Smooth Choppy (hip-rock), Overscene (alt-rock), and Dirty Little Mouth (a kinda funky, George Michael/Maroon 5/MuteMath electric rock).
More than one band who's come to interview with us has mentioned that one of the local bands to watch is The Boom Boom Box from Dallas. You can watch them at Lola's Sixth this Saturday with Sparklepussy Barbie.

Sunday
Hmmm, do we go for Queensryche at the House of Blues or Cheap Trick at WinStar World Casino? Firefest 2009 featuring The Killdares at the Ginger Man in Dallas it is.
See something we missed? Let us know in the comments. Don't forget to check out the daily Peg Picks for more event suggestions from Pegasus News staffers.

Also Thursday, The Shaky Hands/The Thermals play at the Loft. http://www.pegasusnews.com/events/200... Doors at 7:30pm. More fun than India.arie, guaranteed.
