DART may be $190 million short for final phase of Orange Line
DART initially thought it was $120 million short. What's $70 million? Big whoop!
The DART Orange Line is being built in three phases, spanning 14 miles from Bachmann Lake to DFW Airport. The final phase was initially estimated to be $120 million short, but DART board member John Danish said Wednesday it could be closer to $190 million.
One potential silver lining is that DART has upset some residents because it was considering changing the route's alignment, but the shortfall and tight deadline means they'll probably just stick to the original plan.

John McClelland, says:
I think DART needs to start looking into the dreaded public private partnership if it ever wants to afford to build anything.
