Dallas firefighters who took tainted promotion exam get a pass
Talk about your grading on a curve.
All 150 of the Dallas firefighters who took a May 5 civil service exam testing their suitability for promotion to the rank of lieutenant have officially passed the test - regardless of their grade.
That's because of a glitch in procedure which omitted the creation of a racially-diverse panel to set the baseline for the passing grade. (Also, some panel members are suspected of discussing the exam with the candidates.)
It's not a fait accompli that all those who took the tainted test will advance to lieutenant rank, however: they'll still need to appear before an interview panel. 'Course, that interview panel is gonna be busier than they originally expected, it seems.

<p>The way I read it, Blake, a re-taking of the test might very well inconvenience the poor souls.</p>
<p>It'll be O.K., though, because "an investigation is underway."</p>
