Teachers at Dallas’ Woodrow Wilson High School get a Friday morning surprise

19

For their next senior prank, students will go downright medieval on those dang teachers

For their next senior prank, students will go downright medieval on those dang teachers

From the looks of things, seniors at Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas spent all their time at the Thursday evening (May 21) Senior Dinner assembling cardboard boxes and then distributing them across the school parking lot so teachers arriving at school the next morning would have to get out and move them before parking their vehicles.

(Get it?)

See, if they'd just applied this much effort in their studies, they might have raised their grade averages by a full half a grade point. (Or something like that.)

As a senior of Woodrow Wilson High School I would like to clarify a couple things:

  1. If you insist on reporting events at Woodrow, do it correctly.

  2. The Woodrow Wilson Senior Dinner was attended by not only our prinicipal Mrs. Vail but the rest of the administrators that were affected by the prank. So unless you are insinuating that the administration had a hand in the production of this prank, I would revise your story.

  3. The senior class did this of their own accord and spent no official class time assembling or implementing this prank. All others who put hard work into the Senior Dinner should be lauded for their beautiful event and negated of all association with this prank.

  4. As for the comment that the effort put into this prank would have been better spent focused on our studies... well there are various things wrong with that:

a. Assembly and implementation of this prank took all of 3 hours late at night. No valuable "study time", as senior clearance day was yesterday, was spent.

b. If you take a look at the top ten percent at Woodrow, you would be pleasantly surprised to find kids with some of the best test scores, impeccable transcripts, and resumes that could knock many accomplished adults out of the park. They have spent their entire high school careers studying and participating in various extra-curricular activities that allowed them to be competitive in the admission processes of some of the best universities in the nation.

c. The prank, which was a harmless act of releasing stress after a month of AP preparation and testing, was representative of the four years of hard work, and seniors having a bit of deserved fun after an incredible high school career.

Again I plead with you, learn the facts before you go reporting falsities and tarnishing your own journalistic reputation.

I don't really think it an over reaction to ask for a truthful representation of the event, but that's just me.

bk...I think you miss the point. This wasn't meant to diss the Senior class..I think it is great you gave the teachers a bit of a prank at the end of your four year gauntlet. Thanks for letting us Peg readers know about your side of it too. You had to be fairly organized to pull it off and it was not harmful or destructive. Good on ya and have a great summer.

James, one imagines that anything more would have precipitated police involvement and possible drug testing for all the graduates....

From Woodrow's graduating class of '74 myself, I can tell you that you don't learn the real lessons until after you get out. Such as: it is hard as hell sometimes to obtain, "...a truthful representation of the (any) event..."

Wasnt distracting or disruptive??? Tell that to the many teachers who were not able to park upon arrival. And good on the teachers for saying to heck with it, and then proceeded to park in student parking!

I have pics of the very lame prank. Kids these days lack imagination and humor. Putting out a bunch of boxes??? ummm wheres the funny part? thats a score of a 2 on the best ever prank scale.

And it had to take more than 3 hours. Yall hatched the plan, then proceeded to gain all those boxes, and then return to the school and unload and place them all? RIGHT. Yall collected those boxes over time. And they had to be stored somewhere until the prank night, which tells me yall had them at home, and so that means your parents knew about it. So I blame them as well. And who ended up cleaning up the mess? Surely none of the pranksters... heaven forbid you actually learn a lesson out of this!

I heard all yall had to do was sit in the auditorium. Oh and a pep rally was rescheduled. RIGHT... that outta learn ya dern ya. Lame prank, and lame discipline.

I wont repost the pics to satisfy the pranksters.
