Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Fort Worth is being streamed live in its entirety
FORT WORTH Beginning Friday, the Thirteenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, featuring Steinway & Sons pianos exclusively, will be streamed live in its entirety at Cliburn.TV. The Fort Worth competition will feature 29 pianists vying for prizes valued at more than $1,000,000. Pianist and arts advocate Jade Simmons will host the webcast for the duration of the competition, which concludes on June 7.
The competitors were selected after performing in cities including Shanghai, China; Hannover, Germany; Lugano, Switzerland; St. Petersburg, Russia; New York, New York; and Fort Worth. The Van Cliburn International Piano Competition is an exclusive Steinway event. Each pianist in the competition will choose to perform on one of three Steinway pianos -- all three pianos are identical Model D concert grands.
"Van Cliburn is close to our hearts at Steinway, and we're delighted to see the Foundation sponsoring its 13th competition," said Todd Sanders, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Steinway & Sons. "This year, the addition of the streaming video is especially exciting, and I'm looking forward to more people being exposed to these artists and the beauty of our hand-crafted Steinway pianos through this medium."

This really is the plus for Ft Worth and since the late 1950s,when Van the man came about after his ride in the Soviet Union, and so we could choose as an Arts Mecca of Texas, Ft Worth to hold the original title for so many years,... good taste that has survived and will continue for years to come...A/T....Van is the man when it comes to cultural contacts...
