Dallas Morning News gives wet kiss to idea of making adult diapers less embarrassing
DALLAS The DMN delivers a big ol' wet kiss to the initiative by Kimberly-Clark to make adult diapers a less embarrassing experience. Kimberly-Clark -- known for its destruction of ancient forests (vs. the use and development of post-consumer recycled fiber) -- is based in Dallas, so one supposes that its hoo-ha new Depends campaign is "local news", sorta. But if you keep in mind that the DMN's usual approach to stories is to "write what you know", you gotta wonder what kind of trauma they're experiencing over there. I mean, the thing has 1,015 words. The causes of incontinence, the boomers, the ad campaign, on and on, seriously, the thing's an opus.

:: tremendous potential for growth in the incontinence business
It's damned near impossible to lampoon this stuff.

I'm caring for an incontinent elderly parent with Parkinson's and dementia. I have to say that I appreciate the availability of good quality disposable product and applaud any effort to make them more effective (i.e. resistant to leaking) and less bulky under clothing. She has little enough dignity as it is.
I washed cloth baby diapers for many years (x 3 children), but dealing with an adult is a whole 'nother experience.

Maybe the staff over there tried them out whilst waiting to see who would get laid off next.

Mom, I helped take care of an grandmother who passed some years ago w/ similar issues, so I know what you're going through.
Travis, I have a feeling they gave one to Blow and the ghost of Blackie Sherrod to try out as well...
