Audio interview: Sacha Gervasi, director of Anvil: The Story of Anvil
Interview with Sacha Gervasi, director of Anvil: The Story of Anvil
We recently spoke by phone with Sacha Gervasi - director of the amazing documentary about the too-weird-to-believe, too-goofy-to-be-made-up story of recently-rediscovered (for the first time) metal band Anvil - from his digs in Los Angeles.
If you've any interest in catching the live show after next Friday's (May 29) screening of Anvil: The Story of Anvil (9:45 p.m.), then you might be interested to hear that this type of two-part event (i.e., film followed by live performance) is just what Sacha envisioned when he made the documentary. He refers to it as "the Anvil experience."
As of this writing (Sunday, May 24 at 7 p.m.), there are still tickets available for the show - though I doubt they'll last long - particularly after you've gotten a load of Anvil doing 666 (circa 2005):
