Jay Novacek, a former Dallas Cowboys tight end, made an appearance in this week's episode of 4th and Long. The training climax occurred when technicians mocked up a thunderstorm to test the wide receivers' ability to contain the ball and the defensive backs' ability to brutally take down the soaking enemy.
There were two familiar faces in the cut room as Steve Gonzales and Montrell Jones were called in for their second week in a row. But they would each get another reprieve as wide receiver Preston McGann was cut instead. According to Irvin, McGann just wasn't being physical enough in the drills.
