League of Women Voters of Dallas elects Sandy Greyson as new president

At its Annual Meeting this month The League of Women Voters of Dallas elected Sandy Greyson as its new President. Having been a member of LWV Dallas for 25 years and served in a number of League board and off board positions, she credits the League as "the place where she got her start in local government and politics."
She was a member of the Dallas City Council from 1997 to 2005 representing District 12 in Far North Dallas. While on the Council, she chaired the Transportation Committee and was very active in local, state and national transportation groups and issues. She also chaired the City of Dallas Domestic Violence Task Force for seven years.
She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Dallas County Historical Foundation, which manages the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, and on the Board of the Dallas Domestic Violence Legal Help Center, a new nonprofit dedicated to providing quality legal representation in the Dallas civil courts to victims of domestic violence
The Board of Directors for the 2009-10 calendar year includes Officers Brenda Marks, Advocacy VP; Katherine Homan, Organization VP; Mildred Pope, Program VP, Cherlyn Remington, Voter Outreach VP, Suzanne Wills, Secretary; Miriam Foshay, Treasurer; and Directors Ann Adams, Judy Coats, Barbara Downey, Carolyn Dunnigan, Rose Harder, Judy Jacks, Ellen Key, Philippa MacDonald, and Karlton Remington.
