— The Texas Rangers were completely outmatched Monday night, losing 11-1 to the NY Yankees at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. The loss snapped a three-game winnings streak and an eight-game home winning streak, and the Rangers fell to 26-18 on the season.

Former Ranger Alex Rodriguez led the charge for New York, collecting five hits for the first time since 2005 and driving in four runs. A-Rod, who played for Texas from 2001-03 and signed the biggest contract in major league history at the time, saw his batting average improve from .189 to a semi-respectable .259 in just one game.

Rangers starter Matt Harrison continued his up-and-down season, allowing seven runs and eleven hits over five innings. Harrison fell to 4-4 on the year with a 5.43 ERA.

The Rangers hitters were silent all game until the bottom of the ninth, when Nelson Cruz homered to cut the Yankees 11-0 lead to 11-1. The Rangers as a whole collected just four total hits and one walk all game.
