Burleson turns solid waste collection over to private vendor

Beginning June 1, solid waste collection will be handled by I.E.S.I. TX Corporation.

Beginning June 1, solid waste collection, including specials, brush and yard waste in Burleson will transfer from the City of Burleson’s hands to a private vendor, I.E.S.I. TX Corporation.

There will still be twice-a-week solid waste collection for residential customers. There will not be any changes to the days or zones collected currently. The total cost is $16.42. This is a 23 percent reduction when compared to the projected 2010 City rate of $21.38. That projected rate would have included costs for a needed transfer station if City employees continued to handle solid waste collections. Residential customers will still use bags, not carts.

The fee for non-residential customers beginning June 1, 2009, will be $20.48 for twice-a-week minor collection (10 bags or one 96-gallon container per set out) and $29.48 for twice-a-week major collection (11-20 bags or two 96-gallon containers per set out).

The 96-gallon carts are an option for non-residential accounts only. If you have any questions, contact the City of Burleson’s public works department at 817-447-5410.
