Dallas ISD votes (barely) to cut positions at Magnet Schools

Bottom line: Dallas Independent School District officials thought they'd lose out on $105 million in federal funding if they didn't cut funding (and teaching staff) from their magnet schools and learning centers, which have been receiving more resources than the "regular" Dallas ISD schools.

So they voted in the wee hours of Friday morning (May 29) to cut teaching staff in order to achieve compliance (and keep the funding), by a vote of 5 to 4.
