Jeff Moschetti named executive chef at Sangria Tapas y Bar
DALLAS Alberto Lombardi is pleased to announce the naming of Jeff Moschetti as Executive Chef of Lombardi's nearly three year-old Sangria Tapas y Bar.
Chef Moschetti, who most recently worked with Stephan Pyles, is working with Alberto Lombardi to widen the concept at Sangria by adding more Mediterranean style dishes to the menu. The pair plan to incorporate foods and spices from Morocco, Greece, France, Turkey and North Africa while retaining all of the restaurant's favorite traditional Spanish tapas dishes. (Hmmm, doesn't that description sound a lot like Samar by Stephan Pyles?)
"My goal," says Alberto Lombardi, "is to create an exciting new menu by including a wider variety of the food and culture from some of the other countries bordering the Mediterranean."
All dishes will continue to be served tapas style and the new menu is expected to debut later this month.

That description does sound like Samar, but also like Dragonfly (minus the Asian slant), which Moschetti opened with Pyles years ago.

Another difference is that India is one of Samar's major cuisine influences.
