Video: Watch the Dancing Machine of East Dallas wail

5

— Meet The Dancing Machine of East Dallas, an air guitar enthusiast who has been dancing on the corner of Highland Road and Ferguson Road for three years. You might relate to him as being our version of the Naked Cowboy of New York, or California's roller skating guitar player. When I first saw the Dancing Machine, a.k.a James, I thought to myself, Geez, this guy has some serious free time on his hands.

When he is not working the late shift at a parcel carrier service, attending church, or sleeping late, James spends his free time standing at the busy intersection wailing away on the air guitar, dancing and singing. But the dancing doesn't stop there. James likes to entertain people while shopping at Wal-Mart. During the interview, people passing by either honked and cheered or called him names. When I asked why he does it, he simply said, “I like to make people smile.” In fact he does. One neighbor said that the Dancing Machine puts a smile on her face after a bad day at work.

You can follow the Dancing Machine on Myspace and Twitter, or by watching our video.
