Dallas VideoFest 22 names award-winning films
Local filmmaker Daniel Laabs scores big.
In a ceremony held Sunday night at the Dallas Angelika, organizers of the 22nd Dallas VideoFest announced the winners in competition categories.
Here's a rundown:
* Best Feature Documentary went to Glass House, by Hamid Rahmanian.
* Best Narrative Short was awarded to Daniel Laabs for sleet snow.
* Laabs also walked away with the honors for Best Comedy Short for Start a band.
* Best Narrative Feature went to The Toe Tactic, by Emily Hubley.
* Dropping furniture (Paul Horn and Harald Hund) was named Best Experimental Film.
* And, finally, the Meta Media Award went to Anders Østergaard for Burma VJ.
Congratulations to all the award recipients and all the filmmakers selected to have their works shown at the festival.
