Dallas frozen yogurt meltdown: J’adore Yogurt in Frisco
One of the best frozen-yogurt places around.
Editor's note: Latest chapter in our series on frozen yogurt covers J'adore Yogurt in Frisco.
FRISCO Opened: September 2009
Profile: Self-serve frozen-yogurt place in Frisco shopping center.
Ambiance: Nicely appointed, with lime green and orange color scheme, and glossy white and chrome furniture. But it's not a boilerplate frozen-yogurt theme: There's none of the typical small tile, and one wall is covered with cheerful flower appliques. It had a kind of shiny-happy feeling, and the staff was open and friendly.
Utensils: Paper cups in two sizes, regular plastic spoons.
Price: 38 cents per ounce.
Yogurt: Eight machines with two flavors per machine adds up to 16 flavors, a total equaled only by the excellent Yogurtland. That meant the basic choc-van-straw, plus an unusually large selection of fruit flavors such as peach, banana, and pineapple, as well as "exotics" like taro and yellow cake batter and the seasonal pumpkin, and not only the original tart but also a tart blueberry. No green tea, but pretty much everything else.
If all those flavors weren't impressive enough, the texture and consistency were flawless, just impeccable, with an inexorable creaminess that stood out above nearly every other frozen-yogurt place sampled so far. Is it possible that some (most) of the other frozen-yogurt places are stretching out their yogurt profits by watering down the mix? J'adore's yogurt seemed to have a higher milk content; it definitely tasted richer and more concentrated, which gave the flavors more potency, more "integrity."
Verdict: Highly recommend. One of the very best of the frozen-yogurt places around, matched only by Yogurtland in Carrollton for overall excellence. I adore J'adore! There. J'adore, feel free to cut and paste that testimonial and add it to your FB page. I need all the clicks I can get.

you mean 30 cents an ounce, yes? i agree that yogurtland is a better value, and am an avowed Huge Fan of the place. however, in the end, we're talking about, say, $4.25 for your fro-yo vs. maybe $3.90?
in any case, all of these self-serve places still beat the non-self-serve joints, which average out to at least 50 cents per ounce
one day i'll hit yogurtland and then this place back-to-back and see how they compare. being as i have no life
