Fort Worth’s 2010 Fearless Film Festival puts out call for submissions
This segment of the Main St. Fort Worth Arts Festival features short films, music videos, and trailers from around the world.
MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival is proud to announce the 4th Annual Fearless Film Festival as a part of the OFF MAIN! series of the MAIN ST. Arts Festival. Since its inception in 1984, MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival has always been a celebration of the arts in a festive atmosphere encompassing a wide variety of art forms. Three years ago, festival organizer Jay Downie felt it was time to add film to the menu of free art attractions the public can come experience and enjoy for 4 fun filled days in the heart of downtown Fort Worth, and thus The Fearless Film Festival was born.
In the four short years Fearless Film Festival has been in existence, it has attracted short films, music videos, and trailers from all over the world, many of which have gone on to win awards at other prestigious film festivals. Last year’s festival introduced a new addition of film industry panels that, like everything else at MAIN ST., were also free and open to the public. With the eclectic programming and bonus panels featuring respected industry experts, we celebrated a record turnout for the screenings, often having every seat filled with standing room only in the back of the theater. In the same tradition as MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival, the Fearless Film Festival continues to grow and expand each year to offer more entertainment and education to both the filmmaker and audience.
Submissions for films to be included in the festival are now being accepted on the following schedule:
* Early deadline: Sept. 28, 2009 – Dec. 15, 2009; entry fee $10
* Regular deadline: Dec. 16, 2009 – Feb. 15, 2010; entry fee $15
* Late deadline: Feb. 16, 2010 – March 15, 2010; entry fee $20
Screening dates for the festival will be April 10 and April 11, 2010.
