Dallas Cowboys 7, Washington Redskins 6
Cowboys pull a win out of an ugly game.
ARLINGTON The Dallas Cowboys pulled a crucial win out of a big bag of unwatchable football Sunday afternoon, defeating the Washington Redskins 7-6 at shiny new Cowboys Stadium. The win improves Dallas to 7-3, still good enough for first place in the ultra-competitive NFC East.

For three and a half quarters, the Cowboys offense was flirting with a shutout for a second straight week, dominated by a tough Redskins defense. But after a late Washington drive ended in a missed field goal -- their second of the game -- Tony Romo finally turned it on, driving the Cowboys down the field with ease and capping off the drive with a 10-yard touchdown to Patrick Crayton.
Washington had one more chance to pull off the upset, but quarterback Jason Campbell threw a tipped-ball interception with just two minutes to play.
Romo did not have a good day, finishing 15-of-27 for 158 yards, one touchdown and one interception on a fourth-quarter fourth-down play. At least Dallas remembered they had a running game this week, running 33 times for 153 yards. Marion Barber, who had just five carries last week, carried 20 times for 99 yards but also had a fumble in the red zone.
Dallas' next game will be on Thanksgiving, when they host the similarly offensively-challenged Oakland Raiders (2-7).
